Our focus in PSHE during the first half of our Spring Term has been charity. In Lawley Class we have looked at many different types of charity, addressed what charity is, and designed our own wacky sports for the Sports Relief charity. Whilst discussing international charities, we looked in particular at The Kenyan Schools Project, set up and run by a local couple – Bill and Lynn Morris. We watched video clips which showed us how this charity helps school children in Kenya, providing them with a desk to sit and learn at. The children were fascinated by the differences in Kenyan school compared to what they have in school.
Following our lessons, I made a donation on behalf of our class, so the children can truly see how we can help and be charitable. I am looking forward to showing the children the photographs on Monday, and how, as a class, we have helped those less fortunate in their learning and education.
