Today the Y5’s in Stiperstones enjoyed a morning at The Marches School, participating in taster STEM sessions.
The STEM sessions consisted of maths, science and design and technology lessons.
During the maths session, the children had to solve a sequencing problem. In the science session, the children enjoyed making rollercoasters, learning about kinetic energy and working together.
The last session of the morning, enabled the children to experience a lesson in the design and technology rooms. They made wind chimes, which involved them using a drill, to drill a hole in the piece of plastic, using a clamp and vice to round of the edges
and heating it up in an oven, to be able to change the shape of the plastic.
All children represented the school well, and enjoyed their morning, having taste of what lessons will be like in two years time.
