Our two classes were very lucky to listen to three different authors promote their new books. We listened to their ideas for creating the books and learnt a little about the backgrounds of their lives.
Firstly Sophie Green spoke about her book called Potkin Stubbs which is a mystery about the ghostly goings on in a bleak Peligan city. Sophie gave us tips about how to write our own ghost stories. She told us that she had worked in a library for many years which inspired her to write her own books.
Finally, Konnie Huq – a past Blue Peter presenter tells us about her new book Cookie. ( which is the first book she has written) Cookie. Konnie asked us if we had to sit by anyone annoying. We can all relate to someone that is annoying and Cookie ends up having to sit by the most annoying person in class. This book features chaotic family life and mad school science projects which she performed on stage.
Thank you to Miss Hutson for organising this event and to all the parents for volunteering to walk to Oswestry School with us.
Well done to Ethan Brown for asking his questions to the authors on stage. He was awarded with a £10 voucher for us to buy some of the author’s books for school.
