Minibeast Home Learning

Hello Nursery children and families,

While the weather is still dry it would be a shame not to get outside and hunt for minibeasts. Have a look around your garden, or even inside your house, and see what minibeasts you can spot.

Encourage your child to look carefully at the minibeasts they have found. Do they have a pattern on them? Do they have legs? If so how many? Where did they find the mini beast? Did they find the mini beast under, on, inside, in front of, behind an object? Encourage your child to telI you using full sentences.

Here is a minibeast identification sheet. Can your child match the minibeast they have found to the one on the sheet?

Help your child to make a picture of the mini beast they have found. They could draw, paint or use collage materials. Can they write their name on the picture? You could help them to write some words to describe the minibeast.

After your minibeast hunt read the story ‘My Mum and Dad make me laugh’ together.

Talk together about the story and the patterns. What patterns can you spot in your house, on clothes (socks usually work well) etc.

I would love to see photographs of what you have been doing; you can email them to me on the Nursery email address Nursery@holytrinitycepa.co.uk

Have a lovely day!
