Today I’d like your child to make some train tickets. Cut up some paper for your child. Ask them to make a ticket for each person in your family. Ask them to write the name of each person in your family on a ticket and draw a picture of a train so they know it is a train ticket!

If you can, role play going on a train. Perhaps set up a row of chairs or cushions? Who will be the driver, ticket collector or passenger? The more ‘train themed’ language you can use the better. Introduce your child to new vocabulary. By doing this activity, you are improving their imagination, communication, speaking and listening skills.

Please read a story to your child today. Let your child choose the story – ask them to find any tricky red words in the text.
