Please start today by singing the doubles song with your child. Encourage them to use their fingers to show the doubles.
Today you will need number cards to 5, 10 small figures/animals/dinosaurs (counters or coins will work too) and a ten frame turned on its side with wheels added to make a double decker bus!
Place the number cards face down on the table or floor. Ask your child to turn one over. Ask them to tell you the double of the number on the card. So, if they have turned over a 2, they tell you the double is 4. Ask them to show you this on their fingers (they should hold up 2 fingers on each hand and put them together to show 4 fingers)
Ask your child to get double 2 (4) figures and put them on the bus. Half downstairs and half upstairs.
Ask your child to write out the calculation 2+2=4. Repeat with the other number cards.
