Tuesday 5th May Home Learning

Good morning Lawley!

I hope you are all well.  Here is our home learning activities for today.

Reading and Phonics

Please complete your daily reading then join in with the Read Write Inc Set 3 Phonics session on YouTube.  Following this I would like you to have a game of Picnic on Pluto focussing on phase 3 sounds.

After this I would like you to go on a sound hunt around your house.  Focus on one of the sounds you have learnt today then go and find objects around the house that have the sound in.  For example if I learnt ‘ea’ I would find a tea bag.

English Home Learning

We are going to start thinking about writing our own set of instructions based on brushing our teeth.  Before we do this, I want you to carefully think about the order this needs to be done in.  Today I would like you to have a look at the picture cards below and write them in the correct order.

Cheeky Challenge: Write a list of the equipment you will need to brush your teeth.

I have set a joining words and missing words activity on Purple Mash for Chapter 1 of Anna’s Sports Day.

Maths Home Learning

Starter: I would like you to use your addition skills and number bonds to complete the sheet below.  Time yourself to see how long it takes.

Today in maths we are going to focus on addition and subtraction, looking at fact families.  This is something we have looked at throughout our lessons, but please watch the video clip to allow you to remember what this means.

Our activity for today is below, remember with fact families you do not include any other numbers.

Cheeky Challenge: Watch our video based on counting in twos, then independently write down these numbers.

RE Home Learning

Christians believe that God likes to give good things in answer to prayers.  Read the chapter below from Luke, Chapter 11, verses 9 – 13.

What do you think this story is about?

Today I would like you to think about the good things you can do, these might be in your household, to your family, friends, or at school.  I would like you to write a prayer about the good things that you can do.

PE Home Learning

Today I would like you to warm up by:

  • jogging on the spot for 20 seconds
  • stretching up high on your tiptoes for 20 seconds
  • crouching down low for 20 seconds
  • doing star jumps for 20 seconds

Following on from last week, we are going to focus on a standing long jump again.  I have got an activity card and a video clip for you to follow.  Remember to make sure you do this somewhere where there is lost of space and ask permission before doing this.

Have fun and see how far you can go safely!

Cheeky Challenge: Can you jump even further?  Can you beat someone else in your household?

Have a good day Lawley and stay safe.
