Friday Maths

Earlier in the week I mentioned that today I would like you to make a summer fruit salad with your child.

This is a really good activity to use maths vocabulary in a practical situation. You could ask questions such as “How many grapes will you add?” “How many strawberries are there?” Are there more apple pieces or orange pieces?” “Can you cut the banana into 5 pieces?” “Are they all the same size?” “Can you cut the strawberry in half?” and so on.

If you are not able to do this activity with your child, here are some maths games links you might like your child to access instead.
