World Ocean Day – Monday 8th June

Hello everyone!

I hope you are all well and staying safe.

World Oceans Day is on the 8th of June each year. It’s a day for acknowledging the role which oceans play in our lives and for inspiring action to protect it.

Here is a video for you to watch:

There are lots of live workshops for you to watch throughout the day, including:

  • A rockpool ramble – 9.30am
  • Learn how to breath like a dolphin – 10am
  • The ocean learning zone – 10.30am
  • The ocean creative zone – 1pm
  • Songs for the ocean – 4pm

You can take part in any of these workshops at the following link:

There are many different workshops you can access throughout the day instead of at a set time.  Why not have a look at choose 2 or 3 to take part in.  Here is the link:

I would like to set you all a challenge for World Ocean Day.  Your challenge is to design a poster based on World Ocean Day, this can include:

  • interesting facts about the oceans of the world
  • information on World Ocean Day
  • lots of bright, colourful drawings

Have fun and use your research skills, art skills and imagination – be creative!

Here is a World Ocean Day song called Song of the Sea, performed by a Primary school last year.  Try to learn the words and create your own actions.

Please do share your work with me, it would be great to share your work and effort with everyone else, my email is:
