Friday’s home learning

Good morning Nursery children and families.

Today we are going to watch and learn how to sign some ‘jumping’ nursery rhymes with Mr Tumble:

Today is going to be a little bit rainy again so I thought you could do some indoor activities.

After watching Mr Tumble’s ‘five little speckled frogs’ song I would like your child to make five frogs and a log for the frogs to sit on. They can make the frogs and log in any way they want to; they may even want to find a real log or stick to use. When they have made these I would like you to sing the song again this time using your log and frogs as props for the song. Can your child count the frogs? When one jumps into the pool can they say how many are left?

Now I would like your child to draw some lily pads. When they have draw the lily pads they need to write one letter from their name on each lily pad. Now glue the lily pads to spell their name. To extend this activity they can make lily pad names for all the family or write all the letters of the alphabet on lily pads and you ask them to find the letter (sound) ‘a’, ‘s’ etc. May be they can even make words from them.

If you go out for a walk today pop some wellies on and jump in puddles. As your child what happens to the puddle when they jump in it?

Have a lovely day and weekend everyone!
