It would be great to see as many of you as possible.

Here are our home learning activities for today.

Reading and Phonics

Please complete your daily reading, then fill in a book review so I can see what you have and have not enjoyed.

Next, please watch and take part in the Read Write Inc Set 3 Phonics session on YouTube.  After this please have a game of Buried Treasure on the Phonics Play website, revising all set 2 and 3 sounds.

English Home Learning

The start of a new week means the start of a new competition!  This week we are going to be concentrating on The Tiger who came to Tea by Judith Kerr.  During the week we will be building up our ideas ready for the competition writing on Thursday and Friday.

Please start by watching the story below, or if you have a copy of the book you can read this.

Today’s activity is to think about feelings.  We are going to write about:

  • How Sophie feels opening the door to the tiger.
  • How Mum feels serving tea to the tiger.
  • How the tiger feels whilst in Sophie’s house.
  • How Mum and Sophie feel when the tiger has left.
  • How Dad feels when he gets home.

When writing about the feelings, I want you to include:

  • capital letters
  • full stops
  • phonics
  • finger spaces
  • neat handwriting
  • adjectives

Cheeky Challenge: How would you feel if a tiger visited your house for tea?

On Purple Mash I have set you Chapter 3 of Little Red followed by a quiz to complete.

Maths Home Learning

We are starting our maths today with our number bonds to ten song.  Please watch and join in with the singing, then independently write down all the number bonds to ten.

Today we are concentrating on ordering numbers.  This means putting the numbers in the correct order, either forwards, 1,2,3,4,5 or backwards, 5,4,3,2,1.  Please start by watching the video on the White Rose website.

Thinking about ordering numbers, here are our activities for today:

Cheeky Challenge: Are Max and Rosie correct?  Explain your answer.

Topic Home Learning

Last week you researched sea birds and created a poster.  This week we are going to concentrate on seagulls.  At the moment in school, we have a seagull who keeps tapping on the window, we have called him Bob!

Today you are going to make a seagull puppet.  This can be made using anything you have at home, including fabric, felt, card, paper, or anything you have (asking permission first).

You can either create your own seagull template or use the one below.

Art Home Learning

Today I would like you to create a tiger mask, this is to go with our book, The Tiger who came to Tea, and is something we are doing in class as well.

Once again, you can use any resources you have at home, paper, card, fabric, but think carefully about what a tiger looks like.  Have fun!

Have a great day Lawley, stay well and safe.
