Wednesday 13th January 2021. Literacy Home Learning for Clee Class and Earls Hill Reception (Cygnets)

Good morning children and families!

I hope you are all well. Thank you to everyone who has sent in work so far; I am very impressed with all the amazing work you’ve been doing at home!

For the next few weeks our Literacy work will be based on a book called ‘What We’ll Build’ by Oliver Jeffers.

Here is the story read by Miss Wright:

This is the part of the story we are going to be thinking about today:

What We'll Build by Oliver Jeffers | Waterstones

The little girl and the man built a door. I have lots of doors in my house. The doors lead to another room or outside into my garden or onto my drive. But what if the door in the story is a magical door leading to an adventure……….

The door may take you to an adventure:

Today I would like you to use your imagination and think about where the door in the story may lead to. Where will it be and what adventure could you have there? I would like you to draw a picture and write about it; or you can tell your grown up about your picture and they will help you to write about it.

I am so excited to see some photographs of where you think the door will lead to.

I would also like you to read to or look at and talk about a book with your grown up.

Here is a fun game to practise your phonics:
