Friday 5th March 2021. Maths home learning for Clee Class and Earls Hill Reception (Cygnets)

To start our maths learning today we are going to join in singing some number songs:

Today for our maths learning we are going to make penguins which we can eat! I would like you and your family to make some penguins using very tasty ingredients. Here are some suggestions, or you can use your own ideas:

Each time you make a penguin I would like you to write a number sentence. For example:

I made 1 penguin for Mrs Meddins and 1 penguin for Mrs Allcock

How many penguins do I have now?

My number sentence will be:

2 + 1 = 3

You can make as many penguins as you wish; the more you make the more number sentences you can write.

When you’ve finished making penguins you and your family get to eat them! Remember each time you eat one I would like you to write a number sentence. So if you make 5 penguins and your mum eats 1 how many will there be left?

You can show this using your hands:

Your number sentence will look like this:

I hope you and your family enjoy making and eating the penguins! I would love to see some photographs of your penguins and number sentences.

Have a lovely day and a lovely weekend everyone! See you on Monday.
