Dear Parents/Carers
Harvest Festival – Thursday 7th October 2021
We shall be holding our Harvest Festival for children in Years 1-6 at Holy Trinity Church, Roft Street. It will take place on Thursday 7th October at 9.30pm and we shall be walking there and back so children will need to wear sensible shoes and a coat. We welcome all parents and carers to attend.
We would like to ask each child for a small donation of pasta or dried goods, cereal, long-life milk or tinned food (beans, soup etc) but no fresh produce as we are asking each class to create a hamper. This will be used to make a harvest display in church and then donated to the Foodbank in Oswestry. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for helping us to support this worthwhile charity.
How Foodbank works:
As a nation, we know it isn’t right that anyone should be left hungry or living in extreme poverty. But whilst we work for long-term change, the network of food banks provide emergency food and compassionate, dignified support to people locked in crisis.
A typical food parcel includes:
- Cereal
- Soup
- Pasta
- Rice
- Tinned tomatoes/ pasta sauce
- Lentils, beans and pulses
- Tinned meat
- Tinned vegetables
- Tea/coffee
- Tinned fruit
- Biscuits
- UHT milk
- Fruit juice
We are asking each child to bring in one item – (see list above). Please can food items be in class no later than Tuesday 5th October.
As you are aware, we hold several school services at Holy Trinity Church throughout the school year including Harvest, Christmas and Easter and Leavers Service. Please could you sign and return the slip below which gives permission for your child to attend all of these. We shall continue to let you know the dates so that you can attend these services.
I look forward to seeing you at Holy Trinity Church.
Yours sincerely
Mr R Kenyon – Head of School RE Lead – Miss J Hutson
