This morning, Stiperstones were enthusiastic and privileged to being attending a church service for the first time in almost two years. The atmosphere in Holy Trinity Church was up lifting and joyful- it was a delight to see so many parents, carers and guardians in attendance.
During the service, Stiperstones performed a pieced called ‘The Flying Pizza’ focusing on the importance of ‘food miles’ and how a pizza from a local shop or take away shop- isn’t from ‘just around the corner.’
As a class, we explored how our food is transported around the globe and researched the importance of shopping locally and buying fair trade products.
All children represented the school extremely well and made myself and Mrs Walmsley very proud.
I would just like to say a huge thank you to all parents, carers and guardians, who kindly donated food for our class hamper. The hamper was greatly received by the church, and will be greatly appreciated by those at the local food bank.
This week Stiperstones visited the Galápagos Islands as part of their studies of Charles Darwin. Whilst on our adventures, we carried out investigations on the adaptations of the finches beaks. The children had great fun and carried out some great science 🧬
Yesterday, we carried out a study of various specimens as our ‘Stunning Start’ for the introduction to our topic about Charles Darwin. All children were fully engaged and had great fun. I was very impressed with the observations and field notes they made about each species they investigated. We had a great day! ☺️

Stipertsones had great fun on Tuesday participating in the Whole School Shelter Day.
On Tuesday 29th June, the whole school participated in a charity day, allowing children to appreciate their role as part of a community. To take responsibility, to be able to look after themselves and to foster an understanding of their importance, impact and influence in the world.
As a school we raised money for the registered charity ‘Shelter Box’. Throughout the day, Stiperstones participated in activities around the theme of ‘Shelter’. They spent time learning about the charity ‘Shelter Box’ and how they help people without homes around the world, designing and building their own shelters, and writing a shelter acrostic poem.
Stiperstones had great fun during an outside learning session, where they were given resources to build their own shelters.
Throughout the day all children displayed excellent values of: courage, respect, humility, justice and love. They also demonstrated great team work and communication skills. They made me very proud, it was a great day!
