The closing date for applications for Reception is fast approaching on Saturday 15 January 2022.
We would therefore be grateful to parents of children , (those born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018) that, if you have not already done so, you need to make application to the local authority for a school place before midnight on Saturday 15 January 2022. We would strongly advise parents not to leave it until the last moment. If they encounter any difficulties, neither schools nor the Admissions Team will be available outside office hours (in other words after close of business on Friday). If parents do not make application by this closing date, their application would be treated as late and that could disadvantage their child when being considered for a place at their preferred school(s).
Paper application forms are not available. Application must be made online at www.shropshire.gov.uk/schooladmissions
Anyone struggling to apply online is advised, well in advance of Friday, to contact Shropshire Council customer services or to attend their nearest Customer Service Point available here. https://www.shropshire.gov.uk/customer-services/find-a-customer-service-point/ Parents should check opening times and availability before visiting these sites.

On Thursday 18th November Mrs Rhodes-Leader and several other members of staff accompanied the children in the choir to The Bailey Head to sing at the Christmas light switch on.
The children gave a wonderful performance, they sang several Christmas songs and even sang one with sign language. They should all be very proud of themselves. Well done to everyone involved.

Dick Whittington Pantomime – Friday 3rd December 2021
On Friday 3rd December we will be having our annual Christmas pantomime in the school hall. The pantomime has now become an annual treat for all the children who really do get involved and thoroughly enjoy the live performance experience. This year it is the story of ‘Dick Whittington’.
Sadly, due to Covid restrictions and the children having to remain in two separate bubbles, we will only be allowed to let Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 watch the Panto this year. However, Nursery, Reception, Year 1 & 2 won’t miss out as they will be having their nativity plays to watch and the PTA have got lots of nice things planned for Christmas.
No story captures the imagination of children more than DICK WHITTINGTON when they will be transported to the magical setting of OLD LONDON TOWN.
Packed solid with comedy, excitement, and adventure, the children will love to cheer their hero DICK WHITTINGTON and boo the evil CAPTAIN BLOOD. They will roar with laughter at the antics of IDLE JACK, SARAH THE COOK and Dick’s crazy cat ELVIS. All this is brought to life by a cast of 5 top entertainers from the world of PANTOMIME (playing 8 character parts). It’s all good old-fashioned fun that you would normally see in a top-line theatre.
The cost of this fantastic panto will be £3.00 per child which has also been subsidised by the PTA to cover the shortfall we have. I’m sure you will agree this is excellent value for money for such an entertaining performance. Please make payment for your child via Parentpay.
Many Thanks

Dear Parents and Carers
The closing date for applications to transfer to secondary school is fast approaching on 31 October 2021.
The national closing date inconveniently falls at the end of the half-term holiday and on a Sunday. Obviously, the School Admissions Team will not be available to help after Friday 29 October and schools are unlikely to be available to offer assistance to parents in making their application during half-term week.
Parents would be well-advised not to leave making their application until the last minute.
Paper application forms are not available. Applications must be made online at www.shropshire.gov.uk/schooladmissions.
Applications received after the closing date, without exceptional reasons, are considered late and won’t be processed until all the applications received on time have been allocated. This may result in your child not being offered a school place at your preferred school. Please indicate if there’s a reason the application is being made after the closing date, eg a house move.
National Offer Day – 1 March 2022
The day the results of your application are released is a national day meaning that the results of all applications made in England are known on the same day.
On this day you’ll be able to log into your account to view the outcome of your application. You’ll also receive an email advising you of the school to which your child has been allocated.
