We have had a very busy week this week continuing with our set text The Three little pigs. We have made lots of pigs houses outside using a variety of construction resources such as crates, boxes, poles etc. We talked about the wolf coming and wondered if he would be able to blow the houses down. The children pretended to be the wolf themselves and tried to blow it down. We have used shaving foam inside with sticks and bricks to encourage mark making.

Alongside our pig activities we have been looking at nursery rhyme week. We always sing lots of rhymes anyway but this week we had some activities revolving around specific rhymes. Here are some pictures from our week.

We have been lucky to have Mr Barnes come and sing with the children on a Wednesday and on a Thursday we now have exercise and movements with Neil and Paris. The children had a lovely time today moving around the hall, they did very good listening and could follow the instructions that were asked of them. What superstars they are. Well done nursery.
We have been doing lots of counting and number activities, lots of language and communication games and Fred talk, all of which can be continued at home. This is the start of your child’s learning journey please continue to do what your doing and let them be independent learners. Thankyou for your continued support.

Miss Evans, Mrs Wickwar. Mrs Dallow.

Hello, we’ve had a busy first week back at nursery. This term we will be looking at the story The three little Pigs, as well as following the interests of the children. We have turned our role play area into half home corner half school as the children showed interest in playing schools and teachers. They have enjoyed using the play laptop to do their important work.
we have introduced the story and used a tuft tray with different materials including straw, bricks and sticks. We have talked about the wolf huffing and puffing. We have also done some physical exercise moving in different ways before the wolf can blow us down.
This week in the morning we have also started our brilliant brushes session. All children have a tooth brushing kit to take home and each morning in nursery we have a two minute brushing session to a song called brush your teeth to the tune of baby shark.
Fred the phonics frog has been using lots of games to sound talk this week and Fred is so pleased with the children already.
Here are some photos from our week.

We’ve had a great day today for our teddy bear day. The children all bought a bear from home and enjoyed teddy dancing and games. We also had a special end of term treat and had some chocolate cake in the shape of the three bears.
A great big Thankyou for all your support and contributions this term. The children have all settled wonderfully and are amazing.

see you on Tuesday 8th November

Hello everyone, we have been very busy this week as we approach half term, we have come to the end of our core text Peace at Last. This week we have been looking at Goldilocks and the Three bears story. We have told the story with puppets, the children have used vocabulary such as “big””hard””bumpy” to describe the chairs and the beds. They have been able to recite certain lines of the story and join in acting it out. We have been exploring oats in a tuft tray and also had some porridge for our snack. The children said it was yummy and we said we hoped Goldilocks didn’t come and eat it.

We have explored a pumpkin and looked at the seeds and enjoyed scooping out the inside. There were some different sized bears hiding inside aswell.
Mr Barnes came to sing with us again and this week we did Old Macdonald had a farm and all the children had a puppet of an animal. We enjoyed singing the song and then afterwards used the interactive screen to draw the animals we had sung about.
Tomorow we will be bringing a bear to have some bear fun and games to end our text. When we return we will be starting our Brilliant Brushes in the morning to encourage healthy eating and tooth brushing regularly.
Thanks for your continued support to your children’s learning. We value your contributions and a member of staff is always on hand to chat.

Thankyou

Miss Evans Mrs Wickwar and Mrs Dallow.

We have been very lucky to have Mr Barnes the music singer come and sing with the children.  They were amazed by his operatic voice and joined in a song with the instruments.

Mrs Roberts has been working very busy transforming our nursery and it looks amazing. Thankyou so much for your hard work. Nursery is looking amazing and the children absolutely love it.  Next week is our last week looking at Peace at Last and on Friday we will be having a teddy bear day to bring own teddy from home to finish it off.

What another busy week we have had in nursery! We have been busy exploring glitter and finding numbers and using brushes to mark make. We have created models again outside using the crates. The children made an ice cream shop and were using the clipboards to write down the orders. We will enhance this next week. We have been making cars to go on holiday aswell. Here are some photos of our busy week.

Thanks to the parents that have sent photos for the focused observations we do each week we value and appreciate your contribution as you know your children best.

Another busy week I’m nursery. We have visited the hall and the library and done learning walks through the school to find where different people are and where different things are situated. We have enjoyed being independent learners by selecting our own resources inside and out. We are using lots of imaginative  play to make models and creations outside and are working together. The children are using of language to their friends and us adults which is brilliant. Every opportunity is a learning opportunity. The children have enjoyed lots of mark making activities. We joined in harvest activities and did some fruit printing and carrot writing.

We welcome any photos or information from home to help us plan for your children. Feel free to send any on dojo. We are very busy learners and are continually growing in our independence.

Another busy week in nursery and lots of lovely learning. Mr Carruthers very kindly let the children help him fill our mud pit by using their wheelbarrows to collect and empty the soil and then they used rakes and spades to dig and even it all out a . A great big Thankyou for allowing the children to have such opportunity. We had a pyjama day on Wednesday as part of our text and the children enjoyed pretending to sleep on a blow up bed and having cereal when they woke up. We discussed what happens before bed including bathing and brushing teeth.
We are very lucky to have had Mrs Roberts come and start some lovely art work in nursery with more to come. This is our new welcome sign and hungry caterpillar tree. The children love it all. Thanks so much to her we really appreciate you helping make our environment look nice.

The children are also enjoying the new shed outside where they can access the resources they would like themselves.

THe children are gaining confidence and independence daily and you can help at home by giving them responsibilities. We have had a great week once again. Please feel free to share any exciting things you do at home via class dojo. If you are not connected please make sure you connect it is important for your child’s journey to be part of the school.

What another busy week we’ve had in nursery. The children have been learning lots in their lex time. They have been learning about emptying and filling different containers and have helped collect soil in wheelbarrows for the mud kitchen. We have been on a nature walk on the school field to collect natural resources for investigation. The children are loving the new resources for outside and have been builders today using the new tools, planks of wood, paper for mark making. Lots of busy learning happening every day at nursery.

This morning we got the new camping set out and enjoyed role play camping with pretend food then we sat and had hot chocolate and toast and sang some camping songs.
