It was a very emotional service as Year 6 shared their memories and their hopes and dreams for the future. We also said thank you and goodbye to our long standing Chair of Governors Mr Chris Harris and our Executive Headteacher ~Mrs Holmes.
We are extremely proud of all our year 6 and their achievements from this year. We would like to wish them every success in their future.

Year 6 enjoyed their treat at Lazer Quest
All the hard work of the Fiver Challenge finally paid off. Year 6 had an amazing time at Lazer Quest with ice creams to finish off with.
The Fiver Challenge has been a huge success
Thank you to everyone for their support with this year’s Fiver Challenge.2023
The children have been extremely busy baking cookies, brownies, cakes, muffins and flapjacks as part of their technology project but also working out the ingredients using ratio and proportion in order to make enough for the whole school. They have made jewellery, painted pictures, made milkshakes and sold ice creams and ice pops.
Miss Richards and I have been so proud of them all and they finally made enough money for a brilliant afternoon at Laser Quest and had ice creams of their choice whilst there.

Great Big Green Week
From the 10th to the 18th June we as a school will be supporting ‘The Great Big Green Week’. The children have been learning about lots of ‘green’ issues, including recycling, plastics recycling and discussing the harm plastics are doing to our environment.
The children have been set challenges and homework in relation to the green learning so please give them your best support from home.

Year 6 at Crucial Crew 2023
The sun shone and we all had a great time at Crucial Crew.
The children learnt essential life skills yesterday.
This is an important part of their PSHE curriculum. . At Crucial Crew, children learn of the dangers of drugs, internet abuse and bullying, stranger danger, the effects of hoax calls. awareness of the many dangers of the sea, water, electricity, railways, poor hygiene, smoking, building sites, internet, dog awareness, alcohol abuse and farm situations were all covered. As a result of attending, Year 6 are now more confident in themselves and in a better position to make a positive contribution to their communities as they mature into junior citizens. The children also take this information back to their families, and members of their communities who may not have been privileged to receive this training.
A spring in our step as we enjoy our first week of the new term and celebrate World Book Day!
We have had a great start to our new term. The children have settled back really well and we have already completed a few assessments as part of Assessment Week for the whole school. It is already evident to see that the children are making remarkable progress.
This was Haughmond’s final World Book Day and they all made a fabulous effort with their costumes. Thank you so much to all of our parents for your support. Miss Richard’s kindly printed them off and laminated them for the children to take home.
The children have also been completing their personal Typography maps – which they were finishing off this Friday with Miss Jones.
Finally the children have enjoyed taking part in their first Mindfulness stretching lesson in PE. This is part of our PE programme and links to their mental health and well being.
