Home Learning
Last week some work was sent home for home learning. This work was sent home as a precaution, just in case of school closure.
For those children who are already off school, please can you start completing the work. The children who are still attending school do not need to start completing the home learning packs yet.
Green books were given out to the Y6’s last week. These books are project books. Across the country it is Science Week. Mrs Platt has set a science activity which can be completed in these books. Other research can be done in these books related to science topics and topic work.
Examples of project books already started are below:
KS2 SATs revision books were sent home with Y6’s yesterday. Pages in these books can be completed at their own pace.
If your child is already off please can you arrange with myself or the office a way of collecting the revision books for the children to complete at home.

Coronavirus – keeping you up to date
In such a rapidly changing environment the safety and welfare of our children and employees remain of paramount importance to us. We will try our best to keep you informed of all the latest developments as they happen. In order for us to achieve this ParentPay will become our fastest and most efficient way to be able to communicate with you.
To enable this to happen we need all ParentPay account holders to login to their account and access the ‘Profile Settings’ section on the left-hand side there is a telephone number tab, please click to add your mobile telephone number. You will then be sent a ‘PIN’ number via text which you need to enter when asked, please also put a tick in the box that says ‘I agree to my child’s school using this number to communicate with me’. This then verifies your telephone number in order for us to send our text messages to keep you updated. If we could ask you all to do this as soon as possible we would be most grateful.
Many Thanks

Handwashing video – something to help the children!
Please find below a link to a short video made by the children of Bicton Primary School, Shropshire. It’s really catchy and will promote a hand washing routine for the children.

The week in Nursery
Nursery have had a very busy start to the half term. We started our new topic of ‘Are Eggs Alive?’ by looking at some different sized eggs in a nest and talking about what we think will hatch out of them. We have learned about the life cycle of the chicken, frog and snake. We have explored raw and boiled eggs and practised writing our names on special eggs with our photographs on. We have been practising our cutting skills by cutting out snake spirals. We have made snakes by threading pasta and compared who threaded the most pasta and who made the longest and shortest snakes. We made our role play area into a farm cafe where we cut up (and ate!) real fruit and vegetables. We have been looking at books with our friends in our reading nest. We wondered ‘Do worms lay eggs?’ We used the internet to find out that they do and we watched a video of a worm laying an egg.
Stiperstones -World Book Day

You all looked amazing in your costumes. Don’t forget to spend your £1 book voucher!
