Allison’s ‘Happy News’

I would like to say thank you for all of the support you are giving your child during these difficult times. It is wonderful to see so many photographs of the home learning taking places. Keep up the great work!

Guinea Pig Update

Hello, some of you have been asking about our school guinea pig Fluffy, wondering how he is coping whilst we are not at school.

Fluffy is a very happy and healthy guinea pig, he has been enjoying the sunshine and time on the grass, eating dandelions- his favourite! He still has lots of cuddles and purrs when he is stroked.

Fluffy did think about exploring the garden!

A very happy guinea pig who loves cuddles.

Fluffy enjoying lots of fresh grass.

Happy News

There are lots of worrying stories on the news at the moment but also lots of happy stories. I would like you to make a contribution to our own Happy Newspaper, write a news report about something you have watched, listened to, read  or just heard about that you think would make others happy to read.

You could use the template below, log on to Purple Mash or make your own. Remember a good news report needs a catchy headline to grab the readers attention.

BBC Newsround broadcast a weekly Happy News item, you may want to write about that.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/50434875

It could be a story on the news which made you smile like the rare goats who went on an adventure around the Welsh town of Llandudno.

Or simply the beautiful rainbows you may see in people’s windows when you go for your daily walk.

Our visit from a beekeeper

Caradoc class enjoyed a visit from Kirsty Williams who is a beekeeper from the Ceiriog Valley in Wales. Kirsty has over 100 beehives all kept in different places. The children learnt lots of interesting facts about bees and beekeeping and had the opportunity to ask lots of questions. They were able to look at and handle the wax frames and even got to taste two types of honey. What a fantastic afternoon and a great learning opportunity as part of our science work on habitats.

Our week in Caradoc

We have had the most amazing week in Caradoc. The children have loved supporting the Year 6 pupils with their ‘fiver challenge’. Especially soaking Mr Dickson and Mr Kenyon!

In Maths the children have been finding the mass of different objects and taking part in some problem solving challenges.

Mrs Lloyd has been busy helping the children to design a healthy vegetarian pizza for Red Riding Hood’s celebration feast. They have enjoyed tasting lots of different toppings and choosing their favourites. They are very excited about making their pizzas and sharing them with parents and careers on our Inspire Feast day on Monday.

Finally, the ‘Into the Woods’ drama workshop led by Clare from Activate Performing Arts was a huge success…there are lots of budding actors in Caradoc!
