Hello everyone, we’ve had a full on busy week in nursery again enjoying carols around the tree on Monday, the children sang Little donkey and were fantastic at singing and the actions. We have been exploring cutting skills by using plastic knives to cut carrots and sprouts for reindeer soup. The children thoroughly enjoyed this and used it in lots of their play for role play. We have been making some Christmas gifts which the children will bring home for you and we have learnt about the Christmas story and baby Jesus.
We had a visit from some of our new starters in January who came to have a stay and play and they enjoyed it. We look forward to them joining nursery after Christmas.
Here are some photos from our week.
Next week we finish on Wednesday, and we will be having nursery party on Wednesday as well.
Thanks for your continued support in your children’s learning and development.

Hi everyone we’ve had a very busy week again at nursery, we have started our Christmas activities which the children are enjoying especially the glitter. We have had white glitter in a tuft tray with animals and we talked about snowy weather as the children said it was like snow. We have done lots of mark making and the children are particularly enjoying the Christmas colouring. We have had some adventures with our elf this week which has opened up lots of communication and listening skills for the children. We have had Christmas jumper day and Christmas dinner day aswell the children loved showing off their Christmas clothes.

We have been exploring patterns this week and used the interactive white board game to see what came next in the Christmas pattern. They are improving these skills daily.
The children enjoyed pe with Neil again today and are learning to listen and follow instructions and are being introduced to different games. They are really enjoying it and are doing super listening

As we approach the end of term we have a busy week or so ahead. On Monday we have carols around the tree in the hall where we will be joining in singing a carol.

Please continue to encourage your child to be independent. The children have all learnt to put on their own coats. You might be surprised ask them to show you.

Thanks for your continued support

Hello everyone, we’ve had a really busy couple of weeks in nursery, continuing our learning and activities about The Three Little Pigs. We have used lots of construction materials to continue making houses for the pigs. We have enjoyed movement time with Neil and Paris. The children are doing brilliant at following instructions and learning to control their balance and move in different ways. We have explored the three little pig story in a variety of ways from drawing our favourite part, re-enacting using puppets, reading different versions of the story, the children are very good at using their imaginations to talk about how the wolf and pig might have been feeling at different parts of the story. As part of personal social and emotional development we have been doing a variety of circle games and talking about how we are all feeling using our colour monsters aswell.

Here are some wonderful pictures of the last two weeks. The next few weeks ahead will be super fun filled with Christmas activities and events along the way.
The children sat really well for the cinderella pantomime this morning and joined in. we had a delivery from Ms Allan who said the postman  had delivered a letter and box for nursery. It was an elf called Ernie. we decorated the tree this afternoon aswell, it is all their own work and it looks fabulous .

We have had a very busy week this week continuing with our set text The Three little pigs. We have made lots of pigs houses outside using a variety of construction resources such as crates, boxes, poles etc. We talked about the wolf coming and wondered if he would be able to blow the houses down. The children pretended to be the wolf themselves and tried to blow it down. We have used shaving foam inside with sticks and bricks to encourage mark making.

Alongside our pig activities we have been looking at nursery rhyme week. We always sing lots of rhymes anyway but this week we had some activities revolving around specific rhymes. Here are some pictures from our week.

We have been lucky to have Mr Barnes come and sing with the children on a Wednesday and on a Thursday we now have exercise and movements with Neil and Paris. The children had a lovely time today moving around the hall, they did very good listening and could follow the instructions that were asked of them. What superstars they are. Well done nursery.
We have been doing lots of counting and number activities, lots of language and communication games and Fred talk, all of which can be continued at home. This is the start of your child’s learning journey please continue to do what your doing and let them be independent learners. Thankyou for your continued support.

Hello, we’ve had a busy first week back at nursery. This term we will be looking at the story The three little Pigs, as well as following the interests of the children. We have turned our role play area into half home corner half school as the children showed interest in playing schools and teachers. They have enjoyed using the play laptop to do their important work.
we have introduced the story and used a tuft tray with different materials including straw, bricks and sticks. We have talked about the wolf huffing and puffing. We have also done some physical exercise moving in different ways before the wolf can blow us down.
This week in the morning we have also started our brilliant brushes session. All children have a tooth brushing kit to take home and each morning in nursery we have a two minute brushing session to a song called brush your teeth to the tune of baby shark.
Fred the phonics frog has been using lots of games to sound talk this week and Fred is so pleased with the children already.
Here are some photos from our week.

We’ve had a great day today for our teddy bear day. The children all bought a bear from home and enjoyed teddy dancing and games. We also had a special end of term treat and had some chocolate cake in the shape of the three bears.
A great big Thankyou for all your support and contributions this term. The children have all settled wonderfully and are amazing.

see you on Tuesday 8th November

Hello everyone, we have been very busy this week as we approach half term, we have come to the end of our core text Peace at Last. This week we have been looking at Goldilocks and the Three bears story. We have told the story with puppets, the children have used vocabulary such as “big””hard””bumpy” to describe the chairs and the beds. They have been able to recite certain lines of the story and join in acting it out. We have been exploring oats in a tuft tray and also had some porridge for our snack. The children said it was yummy and we said we hoped Goldilocks didn’t come and eat it.

We have explored a pumpkin and looked at the seeds and enjoyed scooping out the inside. There were some different sized bears hiding inside aswell.
Mr Barnes came to sing with us again and this week we did Old Macdonald had a farm and all the children had a puppet of an animal. We enjoyed singing the song and then afterwards used the interactive screen to draw the animals we had sung about.
Tomorow we will be bringing a bear to have some bear fun and games to end our text. When we return we will be starting our Brilliant Brushes in the morning to encourage healthy eating and tooth brushing regularly.
Thanks for your continued support to your children’s learning. We value your contributions and a member of staff is always on hand to chat.

Thankyou

Miss Evans Mrs Wickwar and Mrs Dallow.

We have been very lucky to have Mr Barnes the music singer come and sing with the children.  They were amazed by his operatic voice and joined in a song with the instruments.

Nursery is looking amazing and the children absolutely love it.  Next week is our last week looking at Peace at Last and on Friday we will be having a teddy bear day to bring own teddy from home to finish it off.

The children made an ice cream shop and were using the clipboards to write down the orders. We will enhance this next week. We have been making cars to go on holiday aswell.
