EASTER RAFFLE: Our fantastic PTA team has put together some fabulous prizes for an Easter Raffle. The children will be bringing home a set of 5 tickets at £1 per ticket. If you would like to be in with a chance of winning some of the lovely prizes please send the ticket stubs and cash back to your childs teacher in an envelope to be entered into the drawer. We also have little Easter bracelets for sale at £1 each which can be purchased from the school office.
Breakfast and afterschool club
Don’t forget we have the club available before and after school. payments must be made via parent pay and in advance. The children have a variety of food and chance to socialise with different aged children. We offer messy activities such as painting. We decorate biscuits, dance, read, draw and mark make and we access the outdoor environment all under the care of trained school staff.

Today, Holy Trinity celebrated the start of British Science Week. Each class are participating in their own exciting growth activities.Clee started to talk about ideas and what growth meant to them today. I have seen some wonderful seed planting in Earls Hill and beans are growing in Wrekin Class. Caradoc are going to be looking at the tadpoles growing in Mrs Morgan’s pond via video and pictures. Longmynd will be investigating plants and their functions, whilst Ercall and Hawkstone are investigating the effect of sound on the growing of cress seeds. Stiperstones are looking at the size of planets and will be investigating the growth of crators. Finally, Haughmond will be investigating the growth of mould and bacteria and the growth of penguins in the Antarctic.
In assembly this morning, we lear
nt about how growth can be explored in so many different ways, as well as the definition of growth – Growth can mean the process of increasing in size or the progressive development of something.
Each class have been given their own sunflower seed and we will be having a school competition to see which class can grow the tallest sunflower.
The children will hopefully have come home with competition details today on designing their own posters on anything to do with growth. The posters will be judged at school and the there will be one winner awarded to each class with a prize and then the winners will be put forward to a national competition. We had a fabulous World Book Day in Haughmond today, with a visit to our new library and a reading session with Michael Morpurgo. We would all like to thank Mrs Thompstone for organising our author visit. Thank you so much to all parents for providing the costumes for the children today, they all looked amazing.
Well done and thank you to everyone for such a fantastic effort with all the World Book Day costumes. We have had a brilliant day which included a visit to Oswestry Library and an EYFS/KS1 story in the school library.
Today, two Year 5 children from Stiperstones attended the Oswestry Youth Music Festival at Christ Church.
Both children sang ‘Daisy Bell’ by Dacre. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves and represented the school well.
Alissia commented, “I was the sixth person to perform. It was nerve racking, but I found enough courage within me before I started to sing. I performed well and achieved the grade ‘Merit’. Which meant that I performed a capable performance, showing some artistic appreciation and technical ability. I had great fun watching the other children at the festival, performing their pieces as well.”
Amneet commented, “I was the ninth person to perform. All the people who performed before me were wonderful, making me more nervous, because I had never performed a vocal solo before. Unfortunately, the nerves slightly got the better of me and I ended up forgetting some of my lyrics. I found bravery and courage within me, to continue my performance, despite the mistakes and completed my solo piece. As a result of forgetting my lyrics, I only managed to achieve a grade ‘Fair’. However, I would like to have the opportunity to preform a solo vocal piece again, so I can improve upon this performance.”
Last week Holy Trinity’s School Council had the honour of meeting and putting their questions to the Mayor of Oswestry.
The children were excited to meet our town mayor and we discussed matters of democracy, town planning, local charities and of course his fabulous outfit.
The School Council meet the Mayor and were prepared with plenty of questions.
The Mayor then went to meet each individual class and answered more questions about his role.
