Whole school Collective Worship

Good morning, so every week on a Friday, I will be posting a whole school collective worship for you to complete with your child/ren at home.

This week the focus is Wisdom.

A Christian Perspective on Wisdom:

Christians believe that true wisdom comes from God. As a believer grows in faith so wisdom will increase. In the Bible wisdom is seen both as a gift from God and a characteristic of God. In his parables, Jesus taught that placing trust in God and recognising what is of value in life brings fulfilment.

Proverbs 4:6-7

‘Do not forsake wisdom and she will protect you: love her and she will watch over you’.

We have a wonderful video from Holy Trinity Church for you to watch: –  https://youtu.be/3e71ttF5CpA  please click the link. Within the video we focus on the bible story:

‘Matthew 7:24-27  – The Wise and Foolish Builders’.

I have also included a video for you to watch and even sing along to:

Whole school music challenge – ‘Any Dream Will Do’!

ARE YOU UP FOR A CHALLENGE?

We are setting you a singing challenge to complete over half term and including the first week back in school. We will be studying the Bible story ‘Joseph and the coat of many colours’ when returning to school. Your challenge is to watch and listen to the powerpoint below (made by Miss Younger) and learn a song from the musical of Joseph called ‘Any dream will do’. Once you have learnt the song, can you record yourself singing and together, as a whole school, we will collate the videos and make our own version of the song.

You can find the song and lyrics attached to the post, or on You Tube:

The moral of the story is forgiveness, one of our school’s Christian Values and therefore the story has an important part in our school’s ethos and well-being of the children.

Colossians 3:13,

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a musical comedy with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The story is based on the “coat of many colours” story of Joseph from the Bible’s Book of Genesis and was produced in 1999.

Please see the PowerPoint below created by Miss Younger and complete the following tasks:

  • Learn the song
  • Record yourself singing
  • Please send any videos in to longmynd@holytrinitycepa.co.uk by 2nd March 2021, which then gives us time to edit and create the final video.

Mental Health and Fitness Week – Express Yourself through singing

Hello everyone,

Are you ready for a challenge?

singing out loud for wellbeing

It is well known that singing out loud releases feel-good hormones called endorphins that make you feel happy and positive. There is also a tiny part of your inner ear, called the sacculus, that releases even more happy hormones when it’s stimulated by music.

So Holy Trinity children and families turn up the volume and sing your hearts out!

I am challenging you to learn and sing out loud to one or both of these songs:

This first song is for the children in Nursery, Reception and KS1: It is called
‘It’s not just a pile of old bricks’
Image result for its not just a pile of old bricks
This song is for the children in KS2: It is called

‘This is Me’ from The Greatest Showman film

Image result for this is me
I would love it if you could record yourselves singing and dancing to the songs.
When you are happy with the video send it to me at Clee@holytrinitycepa.co.uk and I will create one big video to share with you all.
This will be a great opportunity for you to express yourself through music, sing the songs and also for you to see your friends expressing themselves too.
You can film your video alone or with your brothers and sisters – anyway will be perfect! Be as creative with your filming as you can too.
I would love to see your videos by 15th February.
Have a great week!
Mrs Meddins

Health and Fitness Week

Happy Monday Stiperstones,

This week our learning will be celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week. With school being partially closed and lots of uncertainty, children’s and adults mental health has never been more important.

Here is a message from The Duchess of Cambridge, discussing the theme for this years Children’s Mental Health Week 2021.

The aim of learning this week, is to reduce the amount of screen time children, parents and staff are having and for learning to be more fluid, to help relieve some stresses.

Therefore, I will do not be posting work daily, instead I have created a timetable of learning for you to follow throughout the week. Each morning there is English and Maths based activities and each afternoon has a theme of learning. Our English lessons are going to be based around the book ‘We’re All Wonders’, written by R.J. Palacio.

At 2pm everyday, we will be having ‘Read and Relax’ sessions on Zoom. This will involve Miss Jones and I reading a short story or poem to you.

Click on the link below to access the timetable of learning for the week:

Throughout the week, you may want to keep a well-being journal. Below is a template for your journal.
