Simon Says…

Encourage your child to listen to instructions by playing the game ‘Simon Says’. If you start the instruction with ‘Simon Says’ your child should follow the instruction. If you do not start the instruction with the words ‘Simon Says’, then your child should not do as asked!

Here are some ideas for instructions

Play a fishing game

Fill your washing up bowl or sink with water. Float some pieces of pasta, Lego or leaves on the top. Set the timer on your phone. Give your child a spoon and ask them to fish out as many leaves or pieces of pasta as the can before the time runs out. You can change this game by giving them a large wooden spoon, a teaspoon, tongs, tweezers, a peg or a drinking straw.
