For the last week in our Superhero topic we explored the text Superworm. In our English lessons, we thought of words to describe worms and used our phonics knowledge to sound them out and write them. In Maths, we measured worms using cubes and then recorded their lengths. We discussed the longest and shortest worms we had measured.

In RE, we heard the creation story from the Bible and learned that Christians believe that God created the world, and everything in it – even the worms! We used cooked spaghetti to create worm trail pictures.

The highlight of the week was our ‘Fantastic Finish’! We carefully dug for worms in our outdoor area. We observed and discussed the worms we found and took photographs of them. We also picked apples off our trees and used a spiraliser to make apple worms. They were delicious!
