Today we are going to start our maths with some number songs:

Today we are going to see how many different ways we can make 10 (or 5 if 10 is a little tricky) using gold coins.

For this activity you need:

  • 10 (or 5) gold coins
  • a beanstalk leaf made from paper or card with a line drawn along the centre like the one below

Now I want to have 10 gold coins altogether on the beanstalk leaf.
Can you show me different ways of making up the number 10 on two sides of a beanstalk leaf?
Each time you move the gold coins remember to count them to make sure you have 10.
