Set the timer on your phone for 30 seconds. How many tricky words can your child read before the time runs out?

Explain to your child that there was a traffic jam in the story. Ask them to tell you what a traffic jam is. Show your child this picture of a traffic jam.

Ask them to write some of the vehicles the can see. Ask them to start their sentences with ‘ I can see a….’

Remind your child about capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. Encourage them to use their phonics to sound out each word carefully. Perhaps they could add details such as colour or size to their sentences.
