Home Learning – Thursday 11th June

Good morning all! I hope you are happy, safe and well!

English

Today’s English task requires a little craftiness from the adults! I thought it would be really exciting for you to write your very own books! So here is a video on how to create your mini book from one piece of A4 paper! Remember to cut down the folded side.

Once you have your tiny book. I would like you to start writing up all the information that you have learnt this week about your chosen animal. You can include the diagram as well if you like.

The books are tiny! With your neatest writing you could write a sentence and a small picture on each page. If they are too small you can do a sentence on one page a drawing on the next.

I am so excited to see your books!

Maths

Year 1: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zn7kwty

Reception:

Today you need blocks or bricks to complete today’s activity. You are going to play an adding on game of building towers. Use this template to make a 1-3 dice.

Take turns rolling the dice. Each time, count on to find your total. For example if at first you have 3, then you roll 2, now you have 5. Try to include that language from yesterday. The aim of the game is the first to reach 10 wins!

Extra activities

Today’s extra activity is to create a picture of any woodland animal that you like! You can use whichever media you like as well. Try and make it as accurate as possible by looking at different pictures and trying to get the colours as close as you can. You can use which ever type of paint/pencils/felt tips/crayons that you like.

I would like the animal to have a background as well. We always say in class, “no white paper!”. So think about where you might find this animal and try and draw the animal there.

Have fun!
