She is passionate about education and is delighted to be part of the LAC team at Holy Trinity Church of England Primary Academy and Nursery.

‘It’s lovely to continue to be involved in the education of children. My career has brought me so much joy and fulfillment to date. Apart from managing a local cricket team, education continues to be my main hobby.’

Originally from Wolverhampton, I have lived in Shropshire since 2005. After graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University I taught in a primary school in Stafford for 6 years, which I thoroughly enjoyed.  I then moved to another Wolverhampton where I taught for 10 years in a much larger primary school until 2014 when  I was appointed as a class teacher at Holy Trinity Academy and subsequently Vice Principal in 2015.

Holy Trinity is a truly wonderful school that serves a diverse community, it is the staff, families and children who make it such a special place to work, amd where relationships and expectations are the key to success. I am proud to be a part of St. Chad’s Multi-Academy Trust and their moto “putting children first” is echoed in the decisions we make as leaders at the Academy.  We continue to develop the learning experiences and environment to give all of our children the best chance to achieve their potential.

Post: Holy Trinity Minister

Term Start/End:
01/09/2023 - 31/08/2027
 Rev. Paul Darlington

I began working life as a secondary school maths teacher before entering full-time paid Christian ministry and have been Vicar of Holy Trinity Oswestry since 2005. I have been involved with the governance of the academy in its various manifestations for over a decade from when it was Beech Grove Junior, then Holy Trinity Primary School  and now Holy Trinity CE  Academy & Nursery.I am well rooted in the wider community and interact with the academy community both formally and informally as part of normal parish life. Locally, the academy plays a crucial role in helping children learn the skills, knowledge, attitudes and beliefs which will enable them navigate life with wisdom and agility. Having had four children of my own I have thought deeply about what Christian education means for the present generations and one of my roles is to help strengthen this Christian life of the academy.I particularly value the interaction with pupils in the academy whether in my role as LAC member or local vicar. I often hear a ‘Hello Rev Paul’ in a local supermarket!

 Kathryn Lunt

I have lived in Oswestry for most of my life, and set up my own business in the town in 2017 as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser.  This has helped me to establish links with the local community and I act as treasurer and volunteer for a number of organisations in the area, including Holy Trinity’s PTA.

I became a member of the LAC in 2015 shortly after my eldest daughter began attending the school.  Although both my daughters have now completed their primary education and moved on to secondary school I am looking forward to supporting the amazing team at Holy Trinity in the years ahead.

I am originally from a small mountain town in Romania and after graduating Petrosani University with a degree in Economics, I moved to Shropshire in 2009 and I have lived in Oswestry since 2011.

I met the Holy Trinity team in 2019 when I first volunteered at school. It was during this time I realised just how special Holy Trinity was, such a lovely, caring, diverse and inclusive community and as many people said to me “Holy Trinity is like a family, once you join, it is hard to leave”.

So in 2020 when I was offered a  teacher assistant apprenticeship I was able to remain a part of the Holy Trinity team and honoured to learn and improve my knowledge from professionals with such good practice. I am now working full-time as a teaching assistant at Holy Trinity, I also act as an interpreter for our Eastern European families and I can say that I am proud to be a part of the Holy Trinity family.

I have two daughters who both attend Holy Trinity school, they have been thriving through their primary school years surrounded by such dedicated staff.
