School Day

We offer daily wraparound care from 7.45am until 5.00pm. It is held in the Acorns centre which is situated at the side of the school and can be accessed via the Nursery gate. Parents and Carers can use the small car park next to the Nursery entrance.

Before and after school care MUST be booked and paid for 1 week in advance. Payment must be made via Parentpay. If you do not have an account please speak to the ladies in the office who will help you set one up. If you book within 1 week please message or call the office to make sure they have received your booking.

Sessions are as follows:

Breakfast session 7.45am – 8.30am £5.50 per child
After School session 3.15pm – 5.00pm £8.00 per child

IMPORTANT: Please use the notes box when booking and put the date you are paying for and the names of the child/ren especially if they are additional children.

The school day begins at 8.40am.

The day begins at 8.40am when the children will be admitted to their classroom.
Parents of children in Nursery may bring their children into school. However, we ask parents of older children from Reception upwards to say ‘Goodbye’ at the main door and let the children come into class on their own this promotes their independence. We ask all parents to be punctual and support the school by allowing a prompt start to the day.

Late Arrivals

Any child arriving after 9.00am will need to enter school from the front entrance. All other doors/gates will be locked at 8.50am with lessons starting at 8.55am. Children arriving after 9.00 am will be marked as late (L) on the register. Children arriving after register closes at 9.30am will be marked as unauthorised absence(U). Regularly arriving late is a cause for concern.

Morning Break

The children have a fifteen minute supervised break each morning. Children in Key Stage 1 are provided with free fruit as part of an initiative called The National Fruit Scheme. If you do not wish your child to have fruit then please inform the school in writing. Children in Key Stage 2 are not eligible for this initiative but are allowed to bring fruit from home to eat at this time.

Lunchtime

The school has a kitchen on site which provides a range of nutritious food. Parents may choose whether or not their children bring a packed lunch or prefer a cooked meal. Water is always available free of charge.

School Meals

When children are not eating lunch in the hall they are supervised on the playground. If wet they will be supervised in the classroom.

End of the School Day

Children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 finish school at 3.10pm. The children from years 3, 4, 5 and 6 finish school at 3.15pm. Teachers will send children out of the relevant doors to waiting parents/carers.
If parents or other adults are delayed then the children will be supervised back in school. Please help us by not collecting other children unless this has been arranged with the child’s parents.
