Half Term Fun!

Good morning Lawley!

This week is half term and I am setting some fun activities for you to take part in throughout the week.  You can do these by yourself or as a family.

Maths Challenge

I would like you to design a maths game using the skills you have learnt in class.  This can be any type of game you want, with your own set of rules, your own design.  Your game must be maths related, so using:

  • addition
  • subtraction
  • counting in 2s, 5s or 10s
  • fractions
  • number bonds
  • or your own maths idea

The first step is for you to plan your game, then you will make it.  Once completed you can play the game and get your family to play it.

English Challenge

Once you have designed, made and played your game I would like you to complete your English Challenge.  Your challenge is to write a set of instructions on how to play the game, so if someone in class wanted to play your game they could read the instructions to find out what to do.

Remember a set of instructions must include:

  • a title
  • what you need
  • numbered steps or bullet points
  • steps in order
  • bossy verbs

I am looking forward to reading your instructions so I know how to play your maths game!

Art Challenge

Mr Hughes has posted an art challenge on our Lawley Homework page, I would like you to take part in this.

Science Challenge

Your science challenge is to grow your own crystals!  Have a look at the activity below and follow the instructions.

Here is another science challenge – make a rainbow in a jar!

Also, why not take part in a safely organised scavenger hunt.  What can you find in your garden or on your daily walk?

Africa Challenge

Miss Hutson has set an Africa challenge on the Lawley Homework page for you to complete.  There are lots of links to different activities for you to have a go with.

Have a great half term Lawley.  Remember to stay safe and well, and have fun!
