Monday 6th July English Home Learning

Good morning Lawley and Caradoc!

I hope you are all well and have had a good, safe weekend.

This week we are setting an English competition between both of our classes.  The prizes are:

1st place = 10 dojo points

2nd place = 5 dojo points

3rd place = 3 dojo points

Everyone who participates will also receive 1 dojo point.

Our focus will be based on the story we are also looking at in school.  This will we are looking at We ‘re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen.  I love this story because of the beautiful illustrations and the way it is written so we can all join in easily.

To start with please watch the story, or if you have a copy at home, read if with someone in your household.

Today we are going to focus on learning the story.  We can do this by creating a story map.  Please look at the PowerPoint below to show you what a story map is.

Now it’s over to you to create your own story map and learn our story.  Be creative and imaginative, use colours and pictures, and most importantly, have fun!

Remember in all our writing we must include:

  • capital letters
  • full stops
  • phonics for spellings
  • finger spaces
  • neat handwriting

I can not wait to see your story maps so don’t forget to send them over to myself or Miss Wright.

Cheeky Challenge: Tell me your favourite part of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and why you like this part.
