Desert island creators

In English this week children have created their own desert island, using features such as shipwreck cove and skull island. This is in preparation for letter writing in coming weeks, where children will be stranded pirates on their desert island.  Children are really starting to apply their phonic knowledge in their writing, which is fantastic to see.

Our focus in Maths this week has been shape.  Children have been learning the names of 2D and 3D shapes, describing the differences and sorting the shapes into groups.

Well done to the children who have received reading certificates this week, it’s great to see children enjoying reading at home.
