Good morning Lawley!

I hope you are all well and keeping safe.  Keep up the hard work everyone, you are doing fantastically well! Here are our home learning activities for today.

Phonics Home Learning

Please join in with the daily live session of Read Write Inc on YouTube, we are covering set 3.

Maths Home Learning

Let’s start our maths lesson off by counting in twos.  Please join in with the song, then write down all counting in twos numbers up to 50.

Today we are going to continue with our unit on Multiplication and Division. Let’s watch this video for today’s session on multiplication sentences using the x symbol.

Spr2.1.4 – Multiplication using the x symbol from White Rose Maths on Vimeo.

Now we have watched the video and developed our understanding of multiplication using the x symbol, please complete the worksheet below.  Remember, if you are unable to print this off, don’t worry, please just write the question number and the answer down for me to see.

Cheeky Challenge: Now you have completed our maths lesson, have a go at our mastery, digging deeper question.

English Home Learning

We are going to start our English session by thinking of as many adjectives to describe my animal below.  Remember, adjectives are describing words.

Today, we are going to continue with our book, What We’ll Build by Oliver Jeffers.  Please start by listening to Miss Wright read this story.

Our focus today is to think and consider the feelings of a character.  First, look at the slides below, then share your ideas with someone else in your household before writing down your answers in full sentences, using full stops, capital letters and your phonics.  It might help to imagine you are the character, and exactly how you would feel.

Now, consider the feelings of all the characters and pictures below:

Cheeky Challenge: Think about your feelings at the moment, being in lockdown and learning from home.  Write a sentence explaining how you feel and why.

Please remember to complete your daily reading and spelling practise.

Topic Home Learning

In our topic lesson today, you are going to choose an animal that may have been on Noah’s ark and create a fact file.  You may have a fact book at home, already know many facts, or you could search on kiddle.com to carry out your research.

The animal you choose is up to you, but you must be able to complete a full fact file.

The information I would like you to include in your fact file is:

  • The name of the animal and a picture.
  • The country the animal is from.
  • What the animal eats.
  • Does the baby have another name?
  • A description of what the animal looks like.
  • An interesting and fun fact.

You can design your fact file in any way you wish to, make it bright and colourful, as well as clear to read.  You may wish to write your fact file or type it up on the computer.  I cannot wait to see them!

Have a great day Lawley.  Stay safe and keep on touch.
