Sal has 20 beads.

She uses some beads to make these two necklaces.

Two necklaces, one has seven beads and the other has eight.

How many beads does she have left?

George is thinking of a 2 digit number.

George describes his number as in the five times table, less than eighty and equals 9 when the digits are added together.

What number is George thinking of?

Challenge 3

Two numbers, A and B, are marked on the number lines.

The first number line ranges from 200 and 550 and the second number line ranges from 20 and 40. Each number line is divided into eight equal parts. Point A lies on part six on number line 1 and point B lies on part seven on number line 2.

Find the sum of A and B.

Max buys a shirt and a jacket.

A blue shirt and pinstripe suit jacket.

The jacket costs £25 more than the shirt.

The total cost of the shirt and jacket is £87.
