Thursday home learning ideas

Hello Nursery children and families,

Thank you to the families who are sending me photographs of the fantastic home learning activities; It’s lovely to see all the lovely things you are making and doing!

I hope you were able to find some minibeasts and complete some of the activities yesterday.

Today I thought it would be good to make some play dough. Below is a recipe using ingredients which hopefully you will have in the cupboards! Play dough is great for investigation and exploration as well as building up strength in all the tiny hand muscles preparing them for pencil and scissor control. Encourage your child to squeeze, knead,  roll, poke and flatten the play dough. When they have explored the play dough can they roll some pieces of it to make worms? How many worms have they made? Which worm is the longest? Shortest? Can they order the worms in length? Can they measure the worms using blocks or pieces of pasta?
