As the weekend is predicted to be warm and sunny we thought it would be great to share some fun butterfly activities which you could do….

First you could read the story (if you have the book) or watch ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ together

Following on from the story, can you find some food and sort them into which are healthy and unhealthy?

When you are out in your garden or you go for your walk see if you can spot some butterflies.

Can you remember the life cycle of a butterfly? Can you make a life cycle picture? Here are some ideas

Make symmetrical butterflies by cutting out a butterfly, painting one side of it and then folding it over. What has happened to the butterfly? When the butterfly is dry you could tape it onto your child’s back and they can pretend to be a butterfly flying around.

Then you can sing the butterfly life cycle song  ……’There’s a tiny caterpillar on a leaf’…
