Wednesday 6th January – Nursery Work

Please sing ‘The wheels on the bus’ with your child.

Does your child know any other verses for the song? What does the baby on the bus do? (Cries wah wah wah) What does the mummy on the bus do? (Says shh shh shh). Ask your child to sing any extra verses they know.

The wheels on the bus go round and round. Can your child make round and round shapes in the air using their finger? (Draw circles in the air)

Ask your child do draw round and round patterns on paper.

If you have tray or large plate, you could sprinkle some salt, flour, glitter or sand onto it and ask your child to create round and round patterns in it.

The wheels on the bus are circle shape. Look at these pictures of buses. Can your child point to the circle wheels? Can they see any other circles in the pictures?

Go on a shape hunt with your child. Can they find any circles in your house?

Here is another video with Mr Tumble. His bus is covered in circles! His spotty bag has lots of circles on it. In this video Mr Tumble explores different vehicles. Watch the video with your child and talk about the different vehicles. Can they spot any circles in the video?
