Our new topic this half term is called Alchemy Island, we have already got off to a stunning start by solving an Alchemist’s riddle, discovering portals and creating a key for a map of Alchemy Island. Today we travelled through our portal to the Ancient Citadel in the Kingdom of Winterbourne where the locals asked for our help in decontaminating water samples taken from their local Bottomless Well. We learnt about filtering, sieving and evaporating and used this knowledge to separate mixtures of water and salt, water and oil and water and stones. Some of us managed to filter the water successfully and in return we were given our first set of co-ordinates to plot on our map. We discovered that our next destination is Dragon Vine Towers. We used the key and the map to look for interesting places to stop on our way, including a fountain of gold! We also studied samples taken from the island and looked at their properties to decide which part of the island they were from. We have had a lot of fun on our quest so far and are excited to continue on our journey next week!
