Nursery have had a very busy start to the half term. We started our new topic of ‘Are Eggs Alive?’ by looking at some different sized eggs in a nest and talking about what we think will hatch out of them. We have learned about the life cycle of the chicken, frog and snake. We have explored raw and boiled eggs and practised writing our names on special eggs with our photographs on. We have been practising our cutting skills by cutting out snake spirals. We have made snakes by threading pasta and compared who threaded the most pasta and who made the longest and shortest snakes. We made our role play area into a farm cafe where we cut up (and ate!) real fruit and vegetables. We have been looking at books with our friends in our reading nest. We wondered ‘Do worms lay eggs?’ We used the internet to find out that they do and we watched a video of a worm laying an egg.
