For our Stunning Start Long Mynd class invited the Shrewsbury Museum to spend a morning with us studying Greek artifacts, armour and clothing, Greek life and performing a Greek banquet in costume.
The children began by studying and discussing different artifacts that have been found in Greece.
Next, the children learnt about Greek soldiers, their armour and how they protected each other in battles. Afterwards, the children were given a Greek person to perform as they learnt about the roles of men and women in Ancient Greece and the difference between Athens and Sparta.
Finally, the children learnt about and acted out a Greek banquet in costume. Some children acted as directors who told the other children how to behave in their roles.
The children learnt a huge amount about Ancient Greece and really enjoyed looking at the interesting artifacts.
