Start by reading through the tricky words with your child.

Today I’d like you to work on comprehension with your child. It is up to you if you ask your child to write the answers or if you want to use this as a speaking task.

Choose a story to share with your child. Discuss it as you are reading it. When you have finished the story ask your child some questions to check how much they have understood of the story. For example, you could ask them the name of the main character. What happened at the end of the story? Where is the story set? What did the main character do when….? How do you think the character is feeling when…? Why? Show me the page that shows…..
