Well done to Ala (Alicja) who was Hawkstone’s Star of the Week last week. At the start of this academic year Ala was desperate to read a particular book from our class bookshelf but the book was in a band above her current reading age so she set herself the challenge to reach this reading age as soon as she could in order to be able to read her chosen book. On her most recent Star Reader test Ala not only reached her desired reading age but made over a years improvement! She read the book she had set her heart on in one week and passed the accelerated reader test on it with full marks!
Ala has shown a huge interest in Reading this year and reads at every opportunity she gets, both at home and in school and it is a pleasure to listen to her read. She is a true bookworm and is an inspiration to the other children in Hawkstone class. Keep up the good work Ala and keep reaching for the stars.
